We want to inspire teens to dream big!

We are a community of youth who are crazy enough to believe that we can change the world – and we know that whatever grade we’re in this year, God has big plans for us. Students who call Journey’s Crossing home are asked to get involved in everything we do. They’re plugged into groups. They volunteer. They give their resources.

They’re not just ‘going to’ make an impact.

Students are making a difference right now.

Students are on the front lines leading in our church and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We believe this present generation of students has the potential to be used by God in a way that surpasses every other generation in history.

What We’re all about

We are a grace-filled, non-judgmental group of people who are doing our best to live for Jesus at school, home, our jobs and around our friends.

We’re trying to make a difference in the world for and with students! All of the groups we meet in with friends, are a great place to ask spiritual and life questions.

Where we’re hanging out…

Our regular youth groups are happening in 2 places…

ONLINE – On YouTube Thursday nights at 7:30pm on our JCYOUTH YouTube Playlist. Come join us there each week in the LIVE chat, where preteens/teens can connect and win prizes. Click the picture to join us!

IN-PERSON – In May 2021 and beyond, at our JC building (12900 Cloverleaf Center Drive, Germantown), in our brand new youth facility (YAHOO!!), starting Sunday, May 2nd during both adult services on Sunday mornings 9:15 & 11:15am (with social distancing protocols). In order to attend, you have to register. Do that by clicking HERE.

Questions About JCYouth

Who can attend JCYouth?

All 6th-12th grade students are welcome at JCYouth.

Do JCYouth Volunteers have background Checks?

All volunteers must complete an approved background check before serving in youth ministry at JC.

Do you have to be a Christian to attend JCYouth?

We welcome everyone. We unashamedly preach and teach about Jesus, but we try hard to create an environment where everyone can belong.

Can I stay with my preteen/teen at JCYouth?

Safety is our priority at JCYouth. The only adults allowed to attend JCYouth events are volunteers who have an approved background check. We welcome parents to serve as JCYouth volunteers if you are interested in sharing the JCYouth experience with your student. Email our youth team HERE to start the conversation about volunteering with JCYouth!

When does JCYouth Meet?

Well, for the time being, with COVID-19 concerns, we’re meeting mostly online at 11:15am, Sunday mornings on our JCYouth YouTube Channel. Your teen should come hang out there, live in the chat, to win prizes, play games, and learn. There you’ll also find all the youth groups we’ve been doing since the beginning of Corona.

We start LIVE online youth groups on Sunday, August 30th and then, on Sunday, September 13th, we’ll be meeting in person on Sunday evenings for what we call, “JCYOUTH: LIVE”, from 5-6:30pm, with distancing and safety protocols in place. We’ll also ask that everyone who comes to these groups registers for the Sundays they’ll be there. They can do that by clicking HERE.

When we’re finally past Corona our plan is to meet every Sunday morning at THE CORNER (12910 Cloverleaf Center Drive, just a few steps away from our JC building!) our youth ministry space on our JC campus. It’s a great time for preteens/teens to connect with God, each other, and our adult youth workers.

What can my preteen/teen expect to do at JCYouth?

Students will hear the message of Jesus and have fun doing it. They will have the opportunity to experience God-centered community by hanging out with friends and our team of JC volunteer youth workers.

Who is teaching my preteen/teen?

A team of skilled communicators who love Jesus create the messages we teach at JCYouth. Your preteen/teen will hear clearly what it means to find and follow Jesus.

Oooo… glad you asked. We’ve got a brand new internal youth ministry website at Journey’s Crossing. It’s called www.jcyouthonline.com and all the info you need about this week at JCYOUTH will be found right there.

What are we doing to keep preteens/teens as 'COVID-safe' as possible at live JC youth events?

The safety of your preteen/teen is our priority at JCYouth. That’s why we will be attempting to meet outside for all youth events during fall ’20 and maintaining Montgomery County social distancing and occupancy guidelines when meeting. To take part in our live JCYouth events, students will need to…

  • bring a mask (if you have your own bring it, but we’ll have some fresh ones available)
  • maintain social distancing (we’re requiring the mandatory 6ft distance, along with the occupancy guidelines that MOCO sets forth)
  • bring a lawn chair (like the ones you might take to a soccer game; we’ll have some of those available as well)
  • register for all live JCYouth events. You can do that HERE.

We’ll have hand-sanitizer upon entry and exit and the only time students will be in the building is to go to the bathroom (with masks of course).

If weather dictates that we meet inside all square footage distancing protocols will be adhered to and masks will be worn at all times.

What Does JCYouth Believe?

JC Youth shares the same beliefs as the rest of Journey’s Crossing.
