Children

Our Mission:  Meet kids where they are and PARTNER WITH

PARENTS TO help THEM FIND THEIR WAY BACK TO GOD.

We know that you, as parents, are not only interested in the academic and physical development of your child(ren), you also want to help them develop spiritually, relationally and emotionally.  All of our children's programs at Journey's Crossing are designed to help your children develop positive values, relational skills and encourage and enhance their spiritual development.  We care about your kids and want to support your parenting efforts by providing your child with a fun, interactive learning experience that is safe and designed especially for them.  Here are some of our core values:

We believe that kid’s learn best when their senses are fully engaged.
We believe that the Bible is relevant to every aspect of our lives.
We believe that parents are the primary influence on their kids.
We believe that a child’s (and parent’s) first need is a safe environment.
We believe that children must first see God’s love demonstrated before they understand it.

Our Sunday programs provide adventures for all ages, from birth through 5th grade.  Learn more about how much your child will love the Sunday morning experience by checking out each age groups unique program and experience.

Nursery -- Pre-School -- Elementary -- Security

Nursery Care (Up to 2½ years old)

Every Sunday at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM in Room 109, First Floor
Each Sunday we provide a safe and caring nursery, equipped with trained staff and volunteers near the main worship area. It's stocked with all the usual supplies that are needed to make your child's care both safe, comforting and helpful. Our nursery is a free service that we provide moms and dads so that they can enjoy every moment of the worship service distraction free.

Preschool (2½ - 4 years old)

Every Sunday at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM in Room 108, First Floor
Our mission for Preschoolers is to meet them where they are, and with the help of their parents, help them to grow more like Jesus by modeling His love and care. Every week they'll be engaged in an interactive learning time designed just for them with the following components.

  • CONVERSATION STATIONS: Activity centers occur during check-in and check-out time. The purpose is to give children a fun and inviting  environment in which to play, learn and be introduced to the concept from the lesson.
  • LARGE GROUP PROGRAM: The large group teaching and worship time. Leaders participate with the kids.  This includes sing-along, interactive learning discovery about the bible story, animated Bible memory verse, story and interactive game recapping the Bible story and characters.
  • GROUP ACTIVITY TIME: Following the teaching time, the children gather for active learning experiences. Interactive memory verses are learned to enforce the theme of the day.
  • CRAFT & REVIEW TIME: Crafts reinforce the lesson and give the children a take-home reminder of what was learned. We use review cards to draw a real-life application that preschoolers can apply to life through the week.
  • MAP BOOK (Mission Action Plan): Each week your Preschooler will receive take home materials designed to review the lesson and remind them how they can apply the Bible truth to their life. They are to be completed at home with a parent.

  • Elementary kids' program (Kindergarten– 5th grade)

Every Sunday at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM in Room 102, First Floor
Full of high energy and fun activities, the Hyper-Teachings of Johnny Rogers along with the reinforcement of our kids' program team and small group leaders empowers kids with innovative messages and engaging interactivity. The compelling application-based lessons, built on biblical truth, will impact your kids positively.  We use video to bring variety and meet your kids where they are through dynamic lessons with fun and fast paced humor. Each week they'll learn how to apply the lesson through, games, crafts, and small group time. They will be encouraged to take home their Kid Map ( Missions Action Plan) and bring it back the next week completed. The Kid Maps are a great tool for you and your child. You can learn and grow together each week at home!

    Security Procedures

Your child's safety is of first concern while at Journey Kids. That is why all children attending are assigned a security tag and number. This insures that your child will only be released to you or a designated adult you have chosen. This number will also help us to reach you during the service via a visual paging system, allowing you to experience the service without worry.

All adults working with your children at Journey Kids must fill out an application and have a back ground check run every two years.  Again, this is to insure the greatest confidence in quality and safety for you and your child.
